Careful reading of fiction and non‑fiction extracts, answering a range of question types.
Writing Skills
Descriptive and narrative writing, as well as common 11+ tasks such as letters, reports or diary entries. We focus on planning, paragraphing, vocabulary and sentence variety.
Exam Technique & Timing
Working through past or practice papers, improving speed and accuracy and developing calm, repeatable strategies for the exam day.

EHS Masterclass: 13+ Entrance Exam Success

Advanced Comprehension
Close reading of more complex texts, including older or literary language. We work on detailed responses, analysis of language and structure and clear explanation.
Extended Writing
Essays, discursive and persuasive pieces, descriptive and narrative tasks. We focus on planning, argument, organisation, as well as more sophisticated vocabulary and sentence structures.
Exam Practice & Feedback
Timed practice questions and papers with detailed marking and feedback, so your child knows exactly what to improve and how to reach the standard required by their chosen schools.
