AQA GCSE English Language: Paper 2

Editable Worksheet for Interactive Exam Preparation

Suitable for: GCSE English Language students (Year 10 and Year 11) studying AQA GCSE English Language: Paper 2

This worksheet supports students preparing for AQA GCSE English Language Paper 2: Writers' Viewpoints and Perspectives.

It works through each of the five questions in order, using two original source texts (one modern and one from the 19th century) written specifically for this resource.

Each section explains what the question is testing, offers a worked example and gives students structured space to write their own response. The resource is suitable for use as a homework task or for independent revision.

How It May Help

Paper 2 requires students to handle two source texts, compare writers' methods and produce a piece of persuasive non-fiction writing and this editable worksheet helps students practise all of that in a structured, step-by-step way.

The inference section in particular addresses one of the most commonly misunderstood question types on this paper, offering a clear explanation of the difference between stating and inferring alongside a worked example. The comparison phrases and technique tables give students language they can adapt and use in their own answers.

Please note: This is a practice resource, not a mark scheme and is intended to support revision and build familiarity with the Paper 2 format.
